This article has been written both for #projecteducate's Community Week and for the second #FeedbackFrenzy contest.
There are many tutorials right here on deviantART, most of which are provided by other deviants for free. All of us can take a look at these tutorials, and hopefully learn something new. While it's wonderful people spend their spare time helping others learn for free, the truth is some tutorials are much better than others. In this article, I am aiming to share my tutorial-writing knowledge to help others make their tutorials better! After all, if you're going to spend some of your spare time writing a tutorial, you might as well make it the best it can be! :)

There are a plethora of brushes available to you on photoshop. This guide will explain different brush settings, as well as how to install different brush packs here on deviantART. This guide is for pressure sensitive pen tablets. It is going to be much easier to do things with a tablet. Ones by Wacom are good, and you can get a bamboo for under 99$ USD.

It's important to stick with default ones to learn all the settings. You can do so many things with the hard round brush. 
Bring up your brush palette in one of the following ways.  (note I am in CS3, so the icons will look much older, but same thing. )

I had an idea, and I think it's pretty great:D (I know, how articulate of me...) I'm always seeking out and asking for critique, but I rarely give it out myself:facepalm: So! My review on the commissions widgetAs most all of you probably already know, recently a Commissions widget was released to Beta Testers. I've heard a lot of negativity towards this feature, specially because of the 20% that DA takes from the artist's earnings. But I've always thought that before saying anything about any feature on DA I would prefer to test it first, so I recently installed this widget in my profile offering some simple comissions and now that I've had the oppotunity to test it, here is my opinion.
First, the 20% deduction from your income. Yes I'm not a big fan of it either, in my opinion, the biggest negative of this feature.
I'm not an $admin or a developer and I'm not an economics expert either, so I don't understand the reasons for this deduction, however I know there must be a reason for it besides the obvious that DA needs money to keep itself running. I will write almost anything (exceptions may apply, but for now I won't list any because this is my first time doing commissions): short stories, poetry, fan-fiction, and even multi-chaptered stories if you want (but no more than 5...otherwise it'll turn into a novel o.O).  As far as characters go, I can use whoever you want: so, your own OC's, fanfiction characters, or even my OC's if you want.  As far as genres go, I frequently write fantasy (past, present and futuristic) poetry and prose, emotional/contemplative prose and poetry, romantic prose and poetry, and of course fanfiction. You can take a look at my gallery if you want to see if I write something more specific that you might want:aww: As far as other genres go, I will definitely discuss it with you if you may want something I didn't mention. cursive linessometimes I wonder what it is
beneath my ribs
that beats and flutters so
and rises with the words
of a crooning song
         the lyrics a cry for freedom
         the notes a bid for flight

it feels as though it wishes to burst
as if
        (if it swells any more)
I will rise on its current
floating away in the wind
the freest bird in the sky

but the cold of the world
drags me down
the beat within the white cage
labors on
         the fluttery throb of hope
         all but lost

for though I reach out
my fingers grazing the rough edges
of my unfulfilled dreams
they tease my fumbling grasp
and withdraw

rain, rain with the sound of scarletI can hear the sweet sound of rain murmuring outside my window, a gentle music that reminds me of sleep in all its calm beauty.  So I sit by the window and rest my head on my arms, briefly looking out at the gray skies and watching the fleeing, scowling people.  Smiling, I close my glassy eyes and just listen to the sound of the rain drip-dropping into the shallow puddles on the pavement and plopping with a more deep-throated sound into the roof-top pools on the low buildings just outside my window.  A breath of rain-scented wind dances in through the half-open window, tickling my face and playing with my hair as it fills me with the fresh, erain, rain with the sound of scarlet by *MistressofQuills
